The Playboy bunny logo has been known worldwide for decades now. The bunny-shaped logo has taken over the fashion industry; from shirts to hats to jewelry, it’s seen everywhere. Even so, many celebrities wear Playboy necklaces on the red carpet.
However, I noticed even with a stylist on hand; they don’t get the gist of how to style Playboy necklaces for a chic and edgy vibe.
I have taken up the task of going through any combinations of fits for both men and women to come up with the ultimate guide for styling a Playboy necklace. Jewelry can be a tricky thing to style but don’t worry; I got you covered.
How to Style Playboy Necklaces For a Chic and Edgy Vibe
From bulky chains with a large Playboy logo to vintage Playboy necklaces to contemporary and simplistic small pendant necklaces, different types of Playboy necklaces are found on the market. But one style particularly caught my eye– the minimalistic Playboy necklace.
This makes it particularly difficult for those who don’t have much experience with jewelry to know how to style Playboy necklaces for a chic and edgy vibe.
Even more so, incorporating a Playboy necklace into different ensembles, like elegant or casual, to achieve a chic and edgy look is even harder.
Knowing this, let’s go through a few different outfits for both men and women and learn how to transform them to fit the edgy and chic vibe.
Styling for Men
Men have the upper hand as compared to women when wearing Playboy necklaces. That is because different outfits allow them to wear any length, type, or size of Playboy necklace without it taking away from their masculinity.
Even though the most basic Playboy necklace can be worn with almost any outfit on different occasions, it takes much more to achieve an edgy and trendy look than just the necklace. Let me demonstrate:
From casual to edgy and trendy
To achieve the chic and edgy look, dressing in casual daywear or a trendy streetwear outfit is best. Casual outfits for guys usually mean that the top of choice is a T-shirt, a crewneck, or a hoodie. The same applies to streetwear outfits.
Whether it’s a T-shirt or crewneck, a round neckline requires a shorter length of thin to medium width chain and a small to medium size pendant.
The optimal length of the chain would be 18 inches to 20 inches. The best width for the chain would be ⅛ inches (3mm) to ¼ inches (6mm). The size of the pendant shouldn’t be bigger than two inches.
Also, it’s better to go for the simple and slick silver or gold pendant rather than a blinged-up one. But, to achieve an edgy and chic look, I recommend getting vintage-looking necklaces that are from sterling silver or from mixed metals.
I say this because the worn-out look of the necklace and its ruggedness add to the laid-back vibe and attract attention.
If the aim is for an old-school casual vibe, we suggest trying out gold-plated Playboy necklaces. These necklaces are worn best with a plain white T-shirt and a flannel on top.
To complete the look, wearing a Playboy ring that is from the same metals as the necklace is key.
Other accessories to help you convey an edgy vibe would be a belt and a chain attached on the side as well as black sunglasses. Black or ripped jeans will definitely do the outfit justice. For shoes, it's best to wear Converse, Vans, or Doc Martens boots paired with a leather jacket or vest.
From plain elegant to elegant chic
A mix of sophistication and edginess may not be everyone's cup of tea, but that doesn’t mean it’s not possible to achieve such a look. This is where Playboy necklaces come into the picture.
The first thing that should be done is to get a longer chain Playboy necklace. The chain should be ⅛ inches (3mm) in width and should be 22 to 26 inches long, depending man's torso length.
As a suit requires a button-down, men should unbutton the first one to two buttons of the shirt to let the chain peek through. The necklace itself should be tucked into the shirt. The peek of a chain will give a mysterious and intriguing vibe which adds to the overall edginess of the look.
When wearing a turtle neck, I suggest a long and thin chain as before. However, it could go down to 28 inches as the pendant gives additional length. The necklace should be worn over the turtle neck.
Once again, wearing a matching or semi-matching ring will tie it all together, as well as a belt. To take a look from plain elegant to chic, wearing everyday shoes such as Doc Martens boots or high-top Converse shoes is the way to go.
Styling for Women
When it comes to women, no matter the outfit of choice, the Playboy bunny pendant should be small. The bulkier and bigger the pendant, the less feminine the look will be.
Now let’s explore the different outfit options for women so as to achieve the chic and edgy vibe while rocking the infamous bunny necklace.
From casual to street-wear edgy
The notion “the smaller the necklace, the more feminine the look” still applies even when styling necklaces to fit an edgy outfit. The idea of a casual outfit is different for most women. However, jeans or leggings and a T-shirt seem to be a universal laid-back outfit.
Sticking to jeans is the best option to take this look from dull and plain to edgy and chic. For skinny jeans, black is better. For denim or patterns, the straight or flared fit is best.

I suggest a 22 inches length maximum for those wearing a round neckline T-shirt. Women should consider whether they want the pendant to fall right above their chest or on it. The necklace would be most comfortable to be worn right above the chest. Also, for round necklines, the necklace should be worn tucked in.
For those wearing a V-neck, the chain length should be 22 inches to 26 inches. Women with smaller chests should opt to wear a longer length chain, and those with a bigger chest should wear a shorter length.
Unlike men, women can stack necklaces as they look more natural on them. Stacking necklaces help achieve an edgy look while still being feminine.
If a Playboy necklace is worn with one or two more necklaces, it should be the longest out of the bunch and the only one with a pendant. This will help the necklace stick out while also not making the neck look cluttered.
From elegant to chic and trendy
When a woman dresses to impress but wants to stay true to her rebellious and edgy style, it might be difficult. When the dress code requires elegance and sophistication, there is a way around it.
I recommend wearing a dark-colored corset dress that is short or mid-length. It’s even better if the bottom of the dress is flowy.
If the neckline is deeper, a long necklace, even a Playboy necklace, would suit the outfit best. Stacking the necklace with an 18-inch small-ring chain will surely give off an edgy vibe. Adding a belt with details from the same metal as the necklace will accentuate the waist and add to the overall grunge aesthetic.
For shoes, black platform ankle boots or low-rise cowboy boots would make the look seem more appropriate and put together. However, black platform heels aren’t a bad choice at all. For those who want to be comfortable all night long, black high-top Converse is what I suggest.
