How To Clean Pandora Jewelry

How to clean Pandora jewelry has been a question on the minds of countless jewelry enthusiasts worldwide. People also ask does pandora jewelry tarnish. Pandora jewelry regularly uses sterling silver: the world's most popular silver alloy.

Cleaning your Pandora jewelry at home doesn’t take long, and you can even do it with items you already have. Make sure you’re using the right products for your specific piece of jewelry to keep it looking shiny and clean without taking it to a professional. Here are some methods you can try to out at home.

Method 1

Fill a bowl with lukewarm water and dish soap: When you clean your jewelry, you don’t need any harsh chemicals or cleaners. Grab a small bowl and fill it up with lukewarm water from the tap, then add a few drops of dish soap to make it sudsy.

Dunk a toothbrush into the mixture and gently scrub the jewelry:

  • Make sure your toothbrush is brand new so it can clean effectively. All you need to dip is the bristles, but make sure they get nice and soapy!
  • Then use your toothbrush to clean your jewelry, focusing on the areas that are dirty or grimy.
  • You can keep this toothbrush around to use as your jewelry cleaning toothbrush in the future.
  • If you have the choice between hard and soft bristles, go for soft ones. They’ll be gentler on your jewelry so there’s no chance of scratches.
  • Rinse the jewelry with clean water, then let it dry completely.
  • Take your jewelry over to the sink and put a plug in the drain (just in case).
  • Rinse your jewelry until you can’t see any sudsy soap left, then set it on a towel to dry completely. You can also pat it dry slightly to speed up the drying process.

Note: Storing your jewelry while it’s still wet can lead to tarnishing, so it’s important to let it dry out all the way.

Depending on the necklace lengths. Soak the jewelry in clean water for 4 to 10 minutes if there are stains:

  • If the toothbrush wasn’t enough, fill up a bowl with lukewarm water (and nothing else!) and let your jewelry soak in it for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Then, use the toothbrush again to gently remove the softened dirt.
  • Try not to leave your jewelry to soak for too long, as it can lead to tarnishing.

Polish silver jewelry with a silver-polishing cloth until it gleams:

  • Keep buffing your jewelry with the cloth until it looks shiny again
  • You can buy a silver-polishing cloth from Pandora Jewelry or any jewelry store nearby.
  • Polishing cloths can’t remove scratches, just dullness.

Method 2: For Plated Jewelry

Spread out your jewelry in a single layer on a small plastic tray:

  • The Pandora cleaning set comes with a tub of cleaning solution and a small plastic tray that fits right inside of it.
  • Place your jewelry onto this plastic tray in a single layer to make sure you get sparkling, even clean.
  • If you aren’t using Pandora’s Cleaning Solution, read the instructions first to make sure it’s gentle enough for your plated jewelry.
  • Plated jewelry is any jewelry made of base metal (like copper) and then covered with a thin layer of silver or gold.

Dip the jewelry into the Pandora Cleaning Solution for 2 minutes:

  • Gently lower the plastic tray with your jewelry into the cleaning solution, making sure all your pieces are submerged.
  • Set a timer for 2 minutes so your pieces get a nice soak to remove any dirt or oils.
  • The cleaning solution won’t work to remove scratches or tarnishing. If your jewelry is dirty, you may need to get it cleaned professionally.

Dip your jewelry into a bowl of clean water:

  • Lift the plastic tray out of the cleaning solution and grab your jewelry.
  • Dip your pieces into a bowl of clean, lukewarm water to gently rinse them off.
  • You might notice that your jewelry already looks a little more sparkly!

Pat your jewelry dry with a clean cloth:

  • Make sure your jewelry is super dry before you store it or wear it again.
  • You don’t need to scrub super hard; just use small patting motions to get the majority of the water off, then let your jewelry air dry for about 30 minutes.

In Summary:

Polish your Pandora jewelry frequently with a soft polishing cloth to maintain its shine. Buff your sterling silver pieces with the white side of the polishing cloth – it's infused with a gentle cleaning solution that’s specifically formulated for our signature metal.

  • For plated metals, such as 14k rose gold-plated and 14k gold-plated, use the untreated pink side of the polishing cloth.
  • You can use the approved Pandora Care Kit to clean Pandora rings, bracelets, charms, necklaces, pendants, and earrings.
  • Before using the kit, check the instructions for individual stone care on the corresponding page of this jewelry guide to make sure you care for any extra materials on your piece in the recommended way.
  • When using Pandora’s mild cleaning solution, leave the jewelry to soak for approximately two minutes and then follow the instructions for polishing.
  • Don’t use toothpaste or harsh abrasive products when cleaning it and avoid using ultrasonic cleaners, which may cause damage.

Quick tips on how to store your Pandora jewelry

  • A polishing cloth won’t remove scratches, so it’s important to protect your Pandora too.
  • Store them separately in a tarnish-resistant jewelry box or pouch and keep away from abrasive surfaces.
  • Remove your rings before swimming, bathing, and other sporting/physical activities, and limit contact with make-up, creams, perfume, and lotions.
  • There are also a few environments and products you should avoid when it comes to your pieces.
  • Try to keep your jewelry away from extreme temperatures, such as direct sunlight, extreme cold, and dampness.
