Bracelet Size Guide: Common Bracelet Sizing Options

When it comes to jewelry sizing, we, as jewelry makers, can use different sizing options. The two most common bracelet sizing methods are the standard sizes and the sizes indicating the length of the bracelet.

If a bracelet model has standard sizes, you will be able to pick from options like small, medium, and large. One downside of this sizing method is that it doesn’t specifically disclose the exact inner circumference.

Consequently, when you are ordering from our unique bracelet collection you can order the exact bracelet length you need. Our sizes are shown in both inches and centimeters.

In addition to the standard and exact length sizes, you can find some bracelets that have adjustable lengths. They have special mechanisms allowing them to accommodate a range of wrist sizes.

Bracelet Size Chart

The standard sizing might vary according to the manufacturer. The general bracelet size chart looks like this.

Bracelet sizes

Wrist size inner circumference

Small

6.5″ - 6.7″

Medium

6.7″ - 7.1″

Large

7.1″ - 7.3″

Our cuff bracelets, such as the Thin Texture Minimal bracelet, the Athena and the Large Minimal Bracelet, come in three different sizes:

  • 5.5 inches
  • 5.9 inches
  • 6.5 inches

On the other hand, our other bracelet types, like the Black Chain Link bracelet, the Atlas and the Gola bracelet, are available in seven different sizes ranging from 5.5 inches to 10.6 inches.

Average bracelet size for a woman vs a man

Because of the different physiology of men and women, both genders might need different sized bracelets. For instance, the average wrist size for bracelets is different at males and females. Average womens bracelet size is between 7 and 7.5 inches, while the average bracelet size for a man is between 7.5 and 9 inches.

Interesting fact: Did you know that in the jewelry world, we consider 6 inches or less as a small wrist size male?

How to Determine Bracelet Size

Knowing how to measure bracelets is significantly important if you want a comfortable and stylish fit. Although we offer free re-sizing when needed, it's best to get your size right the first time you order so you can wear your bracelet right away.

Our bracelet lengths guide wouldn’t be complete without step-by-step instructions on how to measure your wrist for a bracelet. The most accurate way to do it is to:

  1. Get a tailor’s tape.
  2. Wrap the tape around your wrist’s widest part.
  3. Note the number where the beginning of the tape overlaps.
  4. The number you will get with the tape with the bracelet measurements isn’t your bracelet size. Instead, you should generally add half an inch if you want a snug fit.

If you don’t have a tailor’s tape at home, you can measure your wrist with a strip. Wrap the strip around your wrist and mark where the end overlaps. Take the strip off and put it on a flat surface. Measure the length between the end and your marking with a ruler. Add half an inch to the measurement, and you will get your recommended bracelet size.

How should a bracelet fit on your wrist

The desired appearance is one of the factors determining how should a bracelet fit woman or man. Generally, you want it to be neither too tight nor too loose. You should be able to comfortably move your wrist and it shouldn’t cut off your circulation. At the same time, it shouldn’t be too loose, so it doesn’t slide down your wrist.

The general recommendation on how should a bracelet fit a man is that it can easily fit one or two fingers between your wrist and bracelet. Most of our male clients generally prefer a slightly looser fit that ensures comfort and ease of movement. On the other hand, women prefer all bracelet fits, including tight fit, normal, and loose fit.

Different bracelet styles and their fit

There are many bracelet styles, including cuff, wide cuff, bangle, beaded, and chain bracelets. Consequently, how should a chain bracelet fit isn’t the same as the fit of a cuff bracelet on your arm.

Generally, chain and bangle bracelets are designed to slip over the hand. That’s why we typically offer them in a wide range of sizes. On the other hand, cuffs and beaded bracelets should fit the wrist perfectly.

Conclusion

We hope that our bracelet size guide will assist you when seeking the perfect match. Before ordering, ensure you follow our tips to get precise measurements of your wrist. Enhance your comfort while looking flawlessly, and add a touch of sophistication with our handmade bracelets for men and women.
